Have your words ever gotten you into trouble? Whether it’s complaining, gossiping, or criticizing, we all sometimes struggle with saying things we shouldn’t. Our words create the quality of our life and the lives of those around us. In this series, we’ll explore how destructive our words can be and what we can do to make sure our words are building others up, not tearing them down.
It has been said, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” We all have something going on in our lives we are struggling with – relationships, jobs, anxiety, depression, and addictions. And we can often feel like lack the strength to deal with the struggles in our lives. The truth is we were never designed to handle the negative circumstances of life on our own. In this series, we’ll share four strategies for how to find the strength needed to overcome all that life can throw our way.
When you first think of Jesus, what do you picture? Is it a picture perfect sunny day with children sitting around listening to his stories, or Jesus tending sheep? This series is here to break that stereotype of Jesus. Throughout the Bible, Jesus does some amazing miracles, defies religious norms of that time, and other savage things. This series will use Biblical stories to capture the true vision of who Jesus is.
We have an enemy who wants to destroy us. Satan’s attacks begin with an assault on our mind. If we desire to see change in our lives and growth in our relationship with God, we first have to change how we think. The quality of our lives is the product of our thoughts.
The human race is loving poorly. It sometimes feels like our world is in chaos. In John 15, Jesus gives us a simple instruction: “Love one another.” So many of the problems in our world, our community, and our homes would be solved if we just decided to become “Better Lovers.” But it’s not easy. People think differently, act selfishly, and hurt one another. In this series, we will seek to better understand why we struggle to love others and how we can take the steps needed to choose love no matter what.
More than half of the U.S. population creates a New Year’s resolution. And many of us have areas in our spiritual lives that we want to improve. Yet we often struggle to make our goals stick. Throughout this series, we will discover ways to achieve our short and long term goals. These practical teachings will guide us to make the most of our goals and obtain lasting success.
Throughout our Christmas series, God With Us, we identify specific ways that God is with us in our lives. We can have faith in knowing that God is near to us at all times, through the good times and bad, including sadness, fear, and sin. We never have to be afraid that we are alone.
