Supportive Services

Our Supportive Services Ministry partners with families of children, students, and young adults with differing needs or who just need added support during weekend services.

Emmanuel offers an inclusion ministry at all campuses. Individuals with differing needs can be paired with a one-on-one buddy and given extra support in their typical environment during weekend services.

Buddies may be an adult or a peer, depending on the individual’s needs.

Support Room

Emmanuel also offers a Support Room, at all campuses for all services.

This room is specifically tailored to children from birth to 6th grade who are better served in an environment modified to meet their specific needs. Children will participate in an adaptive experience featuring worship, a Bible lesson, and activities to enable them to come to Christ and grow in Christ.

To request a buddy or register your child for the Support Room, please fill out the Supportive Services Form below.

Adult Support Room

Our Greenwood Campus offers an Adult Support Room where adults with differing needs can gather together for a sensory-friendly weekend service. Adults will participate in a silent worship experience, a discussion around the current sermon series, and time to develop relationships. The Adult Support Room, located in Room 126, is available during all services.

Supportive Services Parent's Night Out

This event is for families with children ages birth-6th grade who have differing needs and their siblings. We will provide an adapted sensory environment to enhance children's participation in activities and games while the parents/caregivers enjoy time to reconnect and relax. Light snacks will be provided for children.

Check-in begins at 5:30 pm. Registration is required.

Impact Team Opportunities

When you serve in our Supportive Services Ministry, you make an impact as you help individuals with differing needs come to Christ and grow in Christ.

  • Buddy

These team members participate with and engage a child with differing needs in his or her large and small group environments. Someone in this role will serve consistently with the same child in order to be a consistent influence in the child's life. These team members are patient, observant and have a heart for kids with differing needs.

  • Support Room Team Member

These team members work one-on-one with children who have differing needs in a self-contained classroom. A person in this role would help facilitate our adaptive experience and create an environment in which all individuals feel accepted, loved, and nurtured.
