Summary of Role Kids Ministry Director

This is a dual role position. The Campus Kids Ministry Director will direct a comprehensive children’s ministry (birth to 6th grade) to grow children in their walk and understanding of Jesus Christ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement a campus ministry plan through collaboration with Centralized Family Ministries Pastor/Director
  • Be the face of the ministry
  • Point families to resources for staying connected
  • Connect parents to activities and events
  • Recruit, train, supervise and support an effective, organized, and growing team of Impact Team members
  • Prepare for, evaluate during, and give feedback after services to large group and classroom impact team members
  • Evaluate every environment through the lens of a first-time guest, as well as the lens of children and families
  • Regularly communicate with families and impact team members through multiple mediums (face-to-face, phone, social media, etc.)
  • Work with the Centralized Family Ministries Pastor/Director to prepare all Kids Ministry environments for weekend services
  • Ensure that all Emmanuel Church safety and security protocols are consistently followed to provide for the safety of children in the ministry
  • Participate in the planning, execution and attendance of department and whole-church events and camps
  • Under the direction of the campus pastor, execute campus-specific initiatives
  • Coordinate and support the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of childcare workers to support events on campus
  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned by the campus pastor

Summary of Role Facilities Director

Maintaining an excellent facility by cleaning, maintaining, and improving the church property. This position requires flexibility as our team assures that the church is prepared for all worship services and other ministry activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the use of church buildings, assets, and grounds.
  • Manage the cleaning and maintenance of church grounds and buildings.
  • Develop and adhere to a budget for the church’s operational needs.
  • Work with other staff leaders to ensure the guest experience on the church campus is welcoming.
  • Work with contractors, subcontractors, and other vendors on buildings/grounds projects.
  • Serve as a liaison with various agencies regarding property issues.
  • Work with outside groups utilizing church facilities to ensure proper care is given to church property and manage any contracts or agreements with those groups.
  • Manage volunteer teams who help with the security, maintenance, and cleaning of the church property.
  • Assist in implementing assigned church-wide initiatives as directed.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteer teams who help with the security, maintenance, and cleaning of the church property.
  • Support the campus pastor during pre-service huddles and Impact Team events
  • Assure clean environment at the campus between Sunday services.
  • Print and set up material needed for the weekend service or events.
  • Work with campus pastor on other projects happening at the campus in need of assistance.
  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate degree in ministry or child development
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
  • OR Equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

  • Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include:

o   Financial support of the church with your tithe

o   Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

o   Participate in community through small group

o   Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period off work each week)
