Job Description

Full-Time (40 hours per week, some weekends required)

Reports to: Campus Pastor

Summary of Role

The Campus Worship Pastor assists in cultivating a life-giving, passionate, and skillful culture of worship through the spiritual and musical leadership of volunteer and contracted musicians on the Impact Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead worship for weekend services at Emmanuel Church (50-75% of the time)
  • Meet with Worship Impact Team members regularly to connect with, care for, and encourage them
  • Assist in the training and coordination of worship band/vocal teams
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the worship music
  • Craft worship experiences to fit campus context (song arrangements, speaking elements, prayers, etc.)
  • Assist the Worship Pastor with department planning and implementation of department projects and in achieving weekly goals
  • Establish good rapport with congregation, staff, and Worship Impact Team
  • Program all Multitrack music for worship utilizing Ableton software
  • Assist in recruiting, auditioning, and onboarding new musicians
  • Assist Emmanuel Church staff with special services and events when requested
  • Under the direction of the Worship Pastor, support, manage and lead worship for students and young adults
  • Assist Campus Pastor with team meetings, Impact Team Nights, and all other campus events
  • Attend regular staff meetings and additional meetings when requested
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

  •  Bachelor’s degree in relevant (a degree in Worship/Music Ministry and/or Biblical/Theological Studies is preferred)
  •  Minimum of 3 years of worship leading in a local church

Knowledge and Skills

  • Highly proficient in voice, piano, and/or guitar
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Proficiency in Ableton software, Microsoft Office and Planning Center Online
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to create, coordinate, and lead a worship experience with a team
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

  •  Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include:

o   Financial support of the church with your tithe

o   Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

o   Participate in community through small group

o   Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period of time off work each week)
