Why should I join a small group?

Small groups allow us to connect to God’s word and one another. They have the power to impact your life, the lives of those around you, and even our community as a whole, in ways that the weekend service cannot. You can only go so far on your own— God designed us to connect with each other so that we can continue to grow in every facet of our lives.

When and where do small groups meet?

It varies! We have small groups that meet each night of the week. Groups are usually located within a 20-mile radius of each campus. Just use the Group Finder Tool to narrow down your search to a group that is the best fit for you!

How long do small groups last?

Our small groups meet for a 10-week semester. At the end of each semester, you will have the choice of continuing on with your group, exploring a new group, or even taking a semester break.

What types of groups are there?

The main topics of study for groups are series-based, financial, new believers, and Spiritual Growth. You can also narrow down your search by life stages, including: married with no kids, married with young kids, married with teens, empty nesters, men’s groups, women’s groups, and young adults 18-24. These groups can also vary by location and meeting days and times.

Is childcare provided?

For groups that meet in a home, this is at the discretion of the group leader. Some groups have been known to share a sitter, swap child care with another group who meets on a different evening, etc. We recommend working with your group leader to establish a system that works best with your group at the start of the semester.

Emmanuel Church does provide childcare at our Stones Crossing and Banta campuses on Wednesday evenings from 6-9pm. -The cost of childcare is $50 per child for the full 10 weeks. To help families balance the costs of childcare across a 10-week groups semester, there will be an initial cost of $25 per child when you register. The remaining $25 per child will be due by week 6 of small groups. You can pay the remaining balance anytime by logging on to myeclife.org, click My Account, then Recent Registrations. -In order to keep a safe and secure environment for the children here at Emmanuel, we will have drop-off open from 6-7 pm. After 7 pm the Children's Ministry inside doors will be locked and will not open again until 8 pm for pickup. We will have a staff members name and number posted on the doors during the secured hours.

How do I choose a small group?

Simply use the filters on the Groups Finder Tool to narrow the search results down to a few groups.  From there you can select each group for a short bio of the group leader(s) as well as details about the their group. Then, click register in order to connect with the group that’s the right fit for you!

What about students?

Groups are also available for Middle & High School students (7th to 12th grade). Visit our student website at ecstudents.org, or contact Emmanuel’s Office at (317) 535-9673 for more details.
