DAVE OCHS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This scholarship fund bears the name of a beloved friend and elder of Emmanuel Church, Dave Ochs, who passed away in February of 2021.
Dave started attending Emmanuel Church in 1986 with his wife Rhonda. Immediately, Dave and Rhonda began to have an impact in the lives of others by serving at Emmanuel. They loved the vision of the church, and thankfully did whatever they could to see people come to Christ and grow in Christ.
In 1989, Dave, at the age of 25, became the youngest member in Emmanuel’s history to be chosen to sit on the elder board. Other than taking the regular rotation on and off the board, he served in that advisory role until he passed away in 2021.
Outside of his love for God and his family--Rhonda and girls Katie (husband Michael and son Titus), Allison and Maddie--he had a love for helping people gain control over their finances. He often met with people one-on-one to review their finances and help them create budgets to pay off debt.
After Dave’s passing, the Emmanuel elders wanted to find a way to honor Dave’s memory. Given Dave’s love for people and his desire to help them attain financial freedom, the elders have created the Dave Ochs Scholarship Fund to provide assistance to those desiring to attend Financial Peace University.
